Pigeon Forge was named for the passenger pigeons that frequented the area when it was first settled in the late 18th Century. Pioneer, Isaac Love stabled an iron forge in 1820. In 1830 his son, William, built a tub mill. The Old Mill is now a National Historic Site and is still in operation today.

There are all kinds of music; Music Mountain Theatre features Grand Ole Opry legends Jim Ed Brown, Johnny Russell and The Four Guys in a star-studded performance.
